Service Design

What is Service Design?

It is an approach to designing services that balances the needs of the customer with the needs of the business. Service design is rooted in design thinking, and brings a creative, human-centred approach to service improvement and designing new services. Using collaborative methods that engage both customers and service delivery teams, service design helps organisations gain true, end-to-end understanding of the digital experiences they offer, allowing for meaningful change and improvements to be done holistically.

In Product users buy and gain possession and ownership by exchanging with money, in Service they get a performance. They create value and ownership does not transfer. Service might/might not involve product to add value to the user.

i.e. All product problems can be treated as SD but not all SD involve a product.
